A woman was arrested on Saturday (October 7) after allegedly trying to climb the gates of Buckingham Palace, The Metropolitan Police has confirmed.

A woman, believed to be in in her 30s, was quickly detained by officers at 5.40pm.

She did not access the palace grounds in Westminster.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of trespass under Section 128 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005, trespass on a designated site.

She is currently in custody at a central London police station.

Police were called to Buckingham Palace on Saturday (October 7) evening

The incident is not being treated as terrorist-related.
