A theme park said to rival Disneyland could open near the city in an exciting move by London Paramount .

The £3.2 billion project, earmarked for between Gravesend and Dartford in Kent, could arrive as early as 2021 and has plans to draw in over 40,000 visitors a day.

It is expected to boast a colossal indoor water park, as well as theatres, live music venues and themed areas, aimed at families, children and the "more adventurous thrill-seeking visitor".

Themed zones planned for the park include Port Plaza, Paramount Port Bay, Adventure Isle and Myths and Legends Castle.

Comparable to Disneyland carnivals, a Paramount and Friends Carnival is also planned for every day.

Around 550 hectares of land at a former landfill site is thought to have been set aside for the vast development.

London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), the firm behind the bid, said the huge resort would also boost other attractions around the country.

According to LRCH, the "Grand Opening" could come as soon as spring-summer 2021

Chief financial officer of the company, Fenlon Dunphy, said: "This is going to have a hugely significant impact on the economy - we will dovetail into a lot of the other attractions in the area.

"It will be a game changer for much of Kent."

It will be financed by Kuwaiti European Holdings and is expected to create nearly 30,000 jobs.

Plans for the park date back to 2012, with the initial consultations taking place in summer 2014 before public consultation got under way in autumn 2016.
