A designer based in Knightsbridge said it was an ‘absolute pleasure’ to design wedding dresses for Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy’s bride to wear for their big day on Wednesday (May 25).

Rebekah Nicholson turned to Caroline Castigliano for her and her four bridesmaids’ gowns for the big day at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, with the service starting at 2pm.

Caroline, a designer from Esher whose flagship store is in Knightsbridge, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to work with Becky on her gowns.

“On top of being an incredibly beautiful bride she’s a lovely person.

“I wish her the most happy and fantastic life with Jamie Vardy - he’s a very lucky man.”

Despite the glowing report from Caroline, Vardy's parents and grandparents are set to miss the wedding after a falling out with the bride-to-be.

Vardy will miss England's Euro 2016 warm-up game on Friday with Australia due to the wedding, with boss Roy Hodgson giving him his blessing after the striker cancelled the wedding last year due to an unexpected England call-up.

Caroline, known for her understated yet glamorous designs to make graceful, feminine silhouettes, created bespoke couture gowns for the bride.

Becky walked down the aisle to her football star, fresh himself from winning the Premier League with his underdog team, in a beautiful, handcrafted figure-hugging dress featuring an integral corset.

Her look was finished with a couture veil.

Becky’s bridesmaid dresses were made to compliment the bride’s outfit and were created from silk marocain crepe in a fit and flare style with low back details and crossover straps.
