A man on a moped was taken to hospital following a collision with a car in Brentford on Tuesday afternoon (July 18).

He was whisked to a major trauma centre for treatment by London Ambulance Service (LAS) shortly after 12.45pm.

It is not known how serious the injuries sustained by the moped rider are.

The accident happened on Boston Manor Road , near the junction with The Ride.

A London Air Ambulance was also dispatched to the scene, landing in nearby Swyncombe playing fields according to a post on Facebook.

The LAS it said sent several vehicles to Boston Manor Road, as well as the air ambulance, and had its first paramedic at the scene within six minutes.

A LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 12:45 today (July 18) to reports of a road traffic collision in Boston Manor Road, in Brentford .

“We sent a number of resources including an ambulance, a paramedic in a fast car, our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and an officer to the scene.

"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. The first paramedic arrived at the scene in six minutes.

“We treated a patient at the scene and took him as a priority by road to a major trauma centre.”

The incident resulted in the closure of Boston Manor Road in both directions, with buses running on a diversion.

The road had reopened by 4.45pm, according to TfL.
