A man is due in court today (Monday, December 7) charged with malicious communications following a police investigation into messages sent to an MP.
Craig Wallace, also known as Muhammad Mujahid Islam, was arrested on Saturday (December 5) by officers from Brent at his home in Teignmouth Road, near Willesden Green tube station.
The 23-year-old was charged the following day and is due to appear in custody at Hendon Magistrates' Court today (Monday, December 7).
Police said the man had been arrested following an investigation into Facebook messages sent last Thursday (December 3) to an MP. They did not name the MP in question, but said it was not a London MP.
Mr Wallace's arrest comes after Labour MPs Simon Danczuk and Neil Coyle both reported receiving death threats online after voting last Thursday in favour of air strikes on Syria.
