Police have named the person stabbed and killed in Brent Cross following reports of a fight as a murder investigation continues.

Officers say Joseph Olopo died from a single stab wound to the neck following an incident in Heathfield Gardens on Friday (February 17) evening.

Next of kin have been informed.

Police had been called at 7.15pm to reports of a fight and found the wounded 21-year-old.

He was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

A post-mortem examination on Sunday (February 19) gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating, led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers.

Two males were arrested near to the scene on suspicion of affray.

One of the two males arrested, a 20-year-old, has been bailed to return pending further enquiries on a date in March.

The other male, aged 17, was released without charge.
