A fire has broken out at an abandoned former hotel in Feltham, leading to the closure of Feltham High Street.

Hounslow police tweeted today (Saturday, February 27) at 4.20pm that the High Street was closed westbound because of the blaze at a derelict building.

It is understood the blaze is at the old Feltham Hotel, at the northern end of the High Street, near the junction with Bedfont Lane.

The building was briefly home to Feltham Community Association but has not been used since 2008, when the group left, and has badly deteriorated.

TfL Travel Alerts tweeted at 4.52pm that restrictions were in place and police were directing traffic. It warned drivers to expect delays.

TfL Bus Alerts said routes 90, 117, 235, H25 and H26 southbound were all being diverted.

getwestlondon has contacted the London Fire Brigade , but it said it was not able to provide any further details at this stage.
