Scenes for a film starring Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt were filmed in Acton earlier this month.

West London Film Office said they assisted the parking of 140 vehicles at North Acton Playing Fields, Ealing, just over two weeks ago for film crews to work at the nearby LH2 Studios, in Concord Road.

According to IMDB, the film, directed by Back To The Future and Polar Express director Robert Zemeckis, is a Second World War romantic thriller set in 1942, following a spy who falls in love and marries a French agent during a dangerous North African mission.

Alongside Pitt, who plays a character called Max Vatan, it also stars Lizzy Caplan, Marion Cotillard as Marianne Beausejour.

Crews were in Acton for two to three days, West London Film Office said.

Reports suggest the Paramount film, which is yet to be named but is written by Steven Knight, could be released at the end of this year.

getwestlondon asked West London Film Office what date the filming commenced and ended, but a spokesman declined to provide further information on the arrangement with Paramount.
