A burglary victim has tried to enlist Mike Tyson’s help to track down a suspect.

Yagna Sagar is trying to hunt down a crook who stole two laptops, a mobile phone and a debit card - from which he drained nearly £400 - from his former home in Hibernia Road, Hounslow, on November 13, 2012.

Police have identified a suspect, whose details were circulated to officers more than a year ago, but they have yet to track him down. However, Mr Sagar found this photo, posted on the social networking site Facebook on January 4, of the suspect standing beside a man who at first glance appears to be former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.

He tweeted the boxer, asking if he had any information about the man he is pictured with, only to find out it is not Mr Tyson in the photo but someone who is believed to an impersonator.

Mr Sagar, a 26-year-old IT developer now living in Hounslow West, said he was still determined to bring whoever was responsible for the burglary to justice. He told our paper the Hounslow Chronicle the two laptops belonged to friends and because they were not insured he is still trying to scrabble together the money to refund them.

“I’ve promised to pay my friends back but it’s not easy. I want to find the person who did this so they can be made to pay for what they did,” he added.

A spokesman for Hounslow Police confirmed the case is still under investigation and the man on the left of the photo is a suspect with whom detectives wish to speak. Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency police number 101.
