Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson pulled into a pub in Uxbridge for a pint to celebrate its recent renovation.

The Swallow pub in Long Lane welcomed the Uxbridge and South Ruislip MP to pull a pint and relax following a £229,000 investment by pub company Punch.

Publican Andy Kehoe has run The Swallow with his daughters since November 2016 and has replaced the flooring, bar fittings, toilets, sign and front patio area to rave reviews.

The Swallow reopened in September after £229,000 of investment

The project has resulted in 15 new jobs being created in the local area.

Boris Johnson said: "Pubs are part of the fabric that holds local communities together and I’m delighted to see such a significant investment to help secure the future of The Swallow.

"I wish Andy and all of his team every success for the future.”

Cheers to that

Andy added: "We’ve had a really positive response from customers since we re-opened last month.

"Being so close to Hillingdon Station we are always busy and it’s great that we can now offer food as well.”
