A body has been found in a river after police had launched a search for a missing 76-year-old man from Fulham .
Oswald Henderson Mapp was reported missing from Fulham on Friday (August 26) and officers from Met police had appealed for information on his whereabouts.
At around 7.05am this morning (August 28) officers were informed that a body of a man had been seen in the river by Barnes Bridge, which was recovered from the water.
Next of kin have been informed of the development but formal identification is yet to take place.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious at this time.
In October last year American student Josh Sanchez-Maldonado tragically killed himself by walking along the top of a speeding train until it slammed him into a bridge, West London Coroners Court heard.
His death followed a police search after he went missing.
