Two men jailed for a total of eight years for robbing a Wembley pensioner have also been served with a three-year ASBO.

Cameo Joseph, 21, of Cranhurst Road, Willesden, and Jamal Greenland, 24, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Harrow Crown Court in December 2014 to robbery and were both sentenced to four years in prison.

Alongside the criminal proceedings, Brent police applied for Antisocial Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) which were successfully granted by the court at a later hearing.

At Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday (February 24), both men were handed three-year ASBOs which will come into effect on their release from prison, prohibiting them from associating with each other and entering the area around the St Raphael's Estate.

In the summer of 2014, officers from Stonebridge Safer Neighbourhoods team initiated a proactive operation in response to high levels of robberies.

On July 20, a 73-year-old woman was followed and attacked as she walked through Rainborough Close, north-west London. She was pushed to the ground and a gold necklace was ripped from her neck.

The suspects fled the scene on bicycles. Officers conducted enquiries and, using CCTV, identified the offenders the same day. Both were arrested and later charged.

Acting Police Sergeant Sammi Elfituri of Stonebridge Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: "Brent Police will not tolerate such crime and will relentlessly hunt down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

"The safety of the community is always our primary concern. I would like to thank the victim and her family for their bravery and unwavering support."
