A search is underway for a missing man with dementia who fled his care home in Southall on Tuesday (March 14).

Metropolitan Police said Norman Close was last seen at 5.30pm in the area of Adrienne Avenue, where he walked out of his care home.

He has dementia, alcoholism and is dependent on medication which he does not have with him.

Officers are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of the 63-year-old.

Mr Close is not allowed out of his care home unaccompanied.

He is described as white, medium build and has an unkempt appearance.

Officers added at the time of disappearance he was wearing a blue tracksuit with a red collar.

Police have urged the public not to approach him.
