Counter-terrorism police are investigating a case of high-value fraud from shops in London’s West End.
Met Police cannot say why the command is investigating crimes, which were carried out with a stolen passport, because a spokesman said it was “operationally sensitive”.
The SO15 unit says it wants to speak to the person pictured in connection with the fraud offences. The purchases were made with a passport stolen during a burglary in Barnet in 2012.
The suspect went into the shops and purchased high-value items using a cloned credit card and, when asked for additional identification, produced the stolen passport which at the time had the man’s photo in it.
An image of the suspect has also been released which shows him at a bank in central London.
Anyone with information should contact the investigating team on 0207 230 2717 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
