Twickenham station closures: Advice for passengers as lines set to shut for engineering works

All lines running through Twickenham railway station will be shut over the weekend September 30 into October 1 with buses replacing circular services via Hounslow

Train passengers are warned to be aware of upcoming closures on all lines in the Twickenham area due to engineering works.

South Western Railway has said the lines will be closed all day on Saturday (September 30) and Sunday (October 1) to accommodate work on Twickenham railway station.

Posting to Twitter on Thursday (September 28), the train company also warned passengers of closures to some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.

This is how the Twickenham station closure will affect the rest of the line around west London:

  • Circular services via Kingston and via Hounslow will not run, passengers are advised to use other train services and replacement buses.
  • A bus replacement service will be in place between Barnes and Hounslow to connect diverted train services onward via Staines.
  • Buses will also replace trains between Barnes and Teddington to connect trains to and from Shepperton.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside, and services between London Waterloo and Reading will be diverted via Hounslow and will make extra stops.
