Crews are currently dealing with a large flat fire in Acton.

London Fire Brigade tweeted at 1.35pm on Tuesday (October 31) that four engines and 20 firefighters were at Leythe Road.

The brigade said that around a quarter of a flat on the first floor of a three-storey block is alight.

One person rescued

A man has been rescued from the first floor of the fire at a block of flats in Acton, LFB confirmed.

He has been taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.

The fire is now under control.

Cause of fire unknown

Crews from four fire stations - Acton, Chiswick, Hammersmith and Park Royal - were sent to the scene of the blaze.

The Brigade has said the cause of the fire is not known at this stage.

Six escape before fire crews arrive

The Brigade confirmed at at least six people left the building before fire crews arrived.

Firefighters continue to tackle the blaze at the three-storey block of flats in Acton.

The Brigade said it was called at 12.54pm.

At least two bus routes have been placed on diversion.

Routes 440 and E3 are affected.
