A 14-year-old boy involved in a collision with a lorry on the A4 in Hounslow is in a non life-threatening condition in hospital.

The boy was taken to an east London hospital with a head injury by Air Ambulance after the crash in the Great West Road near the junction with Lampton Road at around 3.30pm on Wednesday (September 13).

A Metropolitan Police spokesman told getwestlondon that the boy is now believed to be in a non life-threatening condition at the hospital.

A second pedestrian, a girl, was also struck by the lorry and was taken to a west London hospital with minor injuries.

London Ambulance Service originally reported a girl and a boy were injured in the collision, but the Metropolitan Police confirming this morning (Thursday September 14) it was in fact a boy and a woman involved.

The air ambulance landed on Great West Road, which was closed in both directions by police as they dealt with the collision

The crash resulted in the A4 being closed between Heston Road and Sutton Lane in Hounslow, as emergency services responded .

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.

Investigation works continued to take place with the Great West Road only fully reopening at around 8.30pm.

Police originally said the boy injured was 11-years-old, but has since confirmed he is in fact 14.
