A four-car smash in Hillingdon led to two people being taken to hospital and two arrested for dangerous driving.

The A312 The Parkway was closed northbound, at the junction of Ossie Garvin Roundabout, in Hayes, after the "serious collision" on Thursday (May 25) evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 5.55pm, and the road was closed off for hours as they helped those involved.

London Ambulance Service took two people to hospital, although their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Two men, aged 21 and 24, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and were taken to a north London police station.

The 21-year-old man was released and no further action will be taken against him, Metropolitan Police confirmed.

The second male, aged 24, was released under investigation.

The collision involved four vehicles

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to reports of a collision involving four vehicles on The Parkway (A312).

"Road closures were put in place whilst emergency services dealt with the scene.

"The road re-opened at about 11.40pm.

"Enquiries continue."
