For 90-year-old Jason Massey, jumping out of a plane at 13,000ft is almost second nature.

After successfully landing his third tandem skydive with his 21-year-old grandson, this Uxbridge resident wants to get back up there and do it all again.

“I used to have a private pilot licence a while ago and I always thought to myself what it would be like to jump out and parachute away," he said.

Jason had always thought he was too old for skydiving but one day he decided: “I’ll have a go at that!”

Skydiving with his 21-year-old grandson Bradley, at Hinton Airfields in Northamptonshire, Jason likes to keep his experiences in the family.

“This is the second time I’ve gone with my grandson. He first went when he was 18, he was scared but he soon loved it once he was out of the plane.”

When asked if he would recommend skydiving, Jason said: “Of course I would recommend it, there’s no danger in it at all. The instructors are so skilled at what they do.

“It’s scary when you’re in the plane at 13,000ft thanks to all the noise and the blank open space outside.

“The fear only lasts for about half a minute though, once your instructor kicks you out of the plane.

“Because you’re in tandem, you’re the one out of the plane first!”

When asked whether he would do it again, he said: “I’m an old man now, I’ve got nothing better to spend my money on!”
