The Metropolitan Police has released CCTV footage of two men they wish to identify following an "unprovoked attack" in which a man was "savagely beaten".

The assault happened in Hounslow , on Saturday March 25 at around 10.10pm when the 62-year-old victim was returning home from an evening out in the town.

Whilst waiting at a bus stop opposite the Treaty Centre in Grove Road, he was approached by a man who launched an attack.

Police said the attacker pushed the victim to the ground before repeatedly stamping on his head.

He has now been discharged from hospital, but still requires further medical treatment.

The suspect is described as Asian and aged between 18 and 25-years-old

After the assault, the attacker slowly walked off onto Bell Road in the direction of Hanworth Road, accompanied by a second man who did not take part in the attack.

The suspect is described as Asian and aged between 18 and 25-years-old.

He had short black hair that was shaved at the sides and was wearing a black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

Police would like to speak to the man who walked off with the suspect, as a material witness.

He is described as white and aged in his early 20s.

Detective constable Craig Boosey, from Hounslow Borough, said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack, in which a man, aged in his 60s, was savagely beaten and left lying on the street with extensive facial injuries.

"I would ask the public to contact me if they recognise the person who may have been responsible, or have any other information about this assault.

"Your information may be vital in identifying those responsible."
