The country is officially on royal wedding watch, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set to marry in a matter of days.

Harry popped the question late last year, and Kensington Palace confirmed the news a few days later.

But how will the former Suits star be officially addressed?

Could Meghan ever become the Queen?

It's highly unlikely, as the succession to the British throne is regulated through descent. In short, this means unless you're in the royal bloodline the chances are slim to none.

Kate, formally known as The Duchess of Cambridge, is not included in the line of succession, as she is not a direct relative to Queen Elizabeth II.

When the Queen passes away - or in the event that she steps down as monarch - Prince Harry's, father Charles will become king.

Harry's older brother Prince William is second in line to the throne - and following a rule change which removed the male bias - he will be followed by all three of his three children George, Charlotte and Louis.

Prince Harry is sixth in line to the throne, after his brother William and his children.

Even if Harry did become king, Meghan wouldn't become the Queen, although she could be given the official title of Queen Consort.

What will Meghan's official royal title be after the wedding?

The actress will be known as Her Royal Princess Henry of Wales, using her husband's real name which is Henry not Harry - just to make things a little more confusing...

It is rumoured that after the wedding the Queen is likely to bestow Harry and Meghan the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Queen has reportedly reserved the title for Harry and his bride-to-be. The title has been vacant since 1843.

Other titles available are are Clarence and Buckingham.

Will she be a princess?

Meghan's impending marriage won't make her a princess, even though Harry is a prince.

Only women who are born into the royal family have the title, like Princess Charlotte and Princess Eugenie.

During her marriage to Prince Charles, Diana was officially known as the Princess of Wales.

And after her divorce she was Diana, Princess of Wales - sounds the same but the titles have different meanings.
