A man was Tasered and arrested on suspicion of affray after a person was seen waving a mysterious "item" around at Regent's Park in the early hours of Wednesday (June 21).
Metropolitan Police attended the incident at 1.22am and found a man waving an object around.
It was later discovered to be a shoe horn taken from a mosque, according to police.
A man was Tasered by officers at the scene and arrested on suspicion of affray before being taken into custody at a central London police station.
There were no reported injuries.
A Met Police statement said: "The incident is not being treated as terrorism related at this time.
"Officers are keeping an open mind regarding any motivation for the incident.
"Enquiries by Westminster officers are ongoing."
