Harry Potter fans will soon have the chance to own part of the Gryffindor common room - as long as they've got a few thousand pounds to spare.

Two red velvet armchairs used as props in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone are going on sale on Saturday (March 24) at London auction house Hansons.

With an estimated price of between £1,000 and £2,000, they won't come cheap.

But the worn, red armchairs will let you sit back and pretend your living room is a small corner of Hogwarts.

Chris Kirkham, Hansons London associate director, said: "This is a wonderful - and rare- opportunity for Harry Potter fans.

"It's not often props like this from such a famous film become available to buy.

"I am sure Potter super fans all over the world would love the chance to own something that has played its part in cinema history."

These chairs from the Gryffindor common room could be yours - for a price

But if you want to bid for these chairs, be warned. Those super fans have been known to part with a lot of money for a piece of Potter memorabilia.

In September 2017, one fan paid £30,000 for one of the Hogwarts acceptance letters used in the Philosopher's Stone - more than six times the estimated sale price.

The armchairs will be sold at the Normansfield Theatre in Teddington at noon on March 24 and you can bid in person or online.
