A former world champion dancer will help fix your footwork for free in Isleworth this weekend.

Neil Kelly, who won the World Jive Championships in 1992, will lead taster sessions in Latin and in dance fitness at Isleworth Leisure Centre on Saturday (October 18).

The half-hour lessons will be followed by a demonstration by some of the top competitors from Rubies Dance Centre, where Mr Kelly teaches.

Isleworth Leisure Centre manager Jamie Webster said: "Dancing is a fantastic way to keep fit in a really fun environment. We hope that visitors on the 18th enjoy trying something new under the guidance of a world champion."

The free Latin sessions will take place at 1pm and 2.30pm at the leisure centre in Twickenham Road, with the dance fitness and strengthening taster at 1.45pm and the demonstration at 3pm.

The dance classes are part of a borough-wide open weekend at all five public leisure centres this Saturday and Sunday.

Free Body Combat lessons, swim sessions and sports coaching for youngsters are among the activities taking place at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre, Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre, New Chiswick Pool, and Osterley Sports and Athletics Centre over the course of the two days.

* Spaces for the dance taster sessions are limited and visitors are advised to book a spot by calling the leisure centre on 020 8758 4868.
