A leaflet in my local library asks me: "Middlesex, what does it mean to you?", and what my town means to me.
They mean a great deal to me, having had the honour of being its mayor many years ago.
There is a danger of losing the distinctiveness of our Middlesex towns, as they become swallowed into a London mishmash, so that many will write with their thoughts, their memories and their stories of Middlesex past and present to the Historic Counties Trust - email email@example.com - to say what makes their home town and their county what they are. Let us keep our Middlesex alive.
