CELEBRATIONS are taking place across Ealing over the next four days as communities across the borough mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Some of the more prominent events and activities include the following:

FRIDAY (TODAY)

Lime Trees Children’s Centre, Thorndike Avenue, Northolt, from 12.30pm to 5pm. Children’s games, bouncy castle, magician, and music. Free but please bring and share food for the picnic.

Islip Manor Children’s Centre, Eastcote Lane, Northolt, from 12pm to 3pm. Bring your own food and rug for a picnic in the garden, with a bear hunt, biscuit decorating and dance. Free.

SATURDAY

4th Perivale Scout Hut, Stockdove Way, Perivale, from 1pm to 6pm. Barbecue, pie and mash, raffle, bouncy castle and children's games. Free; all proceeds go to scout funds.

St Mary’s Church, Perivale Lane, Perivale. Jubilee readings and songs in church from 7.30pm followed by fireworks display in churchyard. Free with retiring collection.

Ealing Christian Centre, Northfield Avenue, Northfields, from 2pm to 4pm. Bouncy castle, face painting and music. Free.

Jubilee Market in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre’s main square from 11am to 4pm. Patriotic merchandise and selection of deals.

Tuk Cho restaurant in Ealing Broadway is celebrating the jubilee and International Children’s Day with noodle-making classes for children at 9.45am and 11am, and 10.30am on Sunday. £10 per child, half of entry to be donated to charity Friends International.

Homefield Park, Chiswick Lane, Chiswick, from 11am to 3pm. Bring a picnic or enjoy the barbecue. Children’s games and kings and queen’s fancy dress. Entry is £2.50, under-threes go free.

SUNDAY

Party in Southall Park, off Uxbridge Road, from 10am to 6pm. Music and dance across four stages, funfair, charity stalls, face painting. Free.

Big Lunch at St Barnabas Church, Pitshanger Lane, Ealing. Jubilee service from 10.30am, lunch from noon and screening. Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant from 2pm. Free.

Big Lunch at Holy Cross Church, in Oldfield Lane South, Greenford, from noon to 3pm. Children’s games in Rectory Garden. Free but please bring and share food.

Ealing Cycling Campaign’s River Thames Pageant Ride. Meeting at Ealing Town Hall, Ealing Broadway, from 9.30am for 10am departure. Leisurely cycle along the river to Battersea Bridge to see the boats muster on the Thames. Free.

Madhatter’s Tea Party at Boston Manor House, Boston Manor Road, Brentford, from 1pm to 4pm. Alice in Wonderland themed party with cakes and refreshments and evening outdoor film screening. Free.

MONDAY

Lighting of the beacon on Horsenden Hill. Parking in car park off Horsenden Lane North. Stewards from Rotary Clubs will direct guests to hilltop for barbecue from 8pm. Beacon lit at 10.15pm. Free.

Street party in Adelaide Road, Southall from 2pm until early evening. Singing and dancing from the Punjabi Theatre Academy. Free.

Street party in Seaford Road, West Ealing, from noon to 9pm. Barbecue and live music at The Forester pub. Free. Bring food to share.

TUESDAY

Ealing Cricket Club, Corfton Road, Ealing from noon until late. Children’s games and live bands from 5pm. Free for members and non-members. Bring food to share.

Street party in Oswald Road, Southall, from 10am to 8pm. Music, games and refreshments. Free.

Tea party at Whisk in Ealing Green serving cup cakes, sandwiches and tea all day.
