The biggest picnic event in Ealing is to take place this Sunday in Walpole Park and Pitzhanger Manor House and Gallery.

The event called The Big Lunch will be taking over the green spaces from 11am to 4pm on June 1 and residents are encouraged not to miss out on the events taking place.

The Big Lunch initiative aims to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June as a simple act of community, friendship and fun.

As part of the Ealing Big Lunch event, there are lots of family friendly activities to get involved with including:

- Walking Stories: an interactive outdoor experience takes place in Walpole Park at 11am, 1pm and 3.30pm.
- Actions, Songs and Rhymes with local group, Ealing 135: a play session where young children and their parents or carers can sing popular songs with actions and basic percussion, takes place in Walpole Park at 11.30am.
- Singing tour of Walpole Park with Ultimate Divas: join West End star Joe Speare in a singing, walking tour of Walpole Park at 2pm, with a chance to join in with some well-known hits.
- Tasting and demonstration session of new dish from Walpole Park's first Chef-in-Residence, Kalwant Sahota, takes place at 1.30pm
- Audio Cuts: Digital music making family workshop with Pitzhanger Manor Gallery and Walpole Park’s Artists-in-Residence, the Owl Project, takes place from 12.30pm in the Pitzhanger Manor Gallery.
