Youngsters created their own poppy plaque to add to wreaths at Isleworth war memorial honouring the war dead.

Children at Little Angels Stay and Play, which meets at St Bridget's Church Hall, in Twickenham Road, Isleworth, every Wednesday, each made poppies which together spell out the number 100 on the board to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

They also created poppies out of their hand prints on the back of the board, which they placed at the war memorial outside the church this morning (Wednesday, November 12) in honour of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The group, which caters for children aged up to four, also raised £65 for Children in Need this week by selling wristbands and cup cakes.

On Remembrance Sunday, schoolchildren wore sashes bearing the names of soldiers killed in the Great War, as they took part in a moving ceremony at the war memorial.
