UP AND coming film-makers from Harrow have seen their latest project take the internet by storm with more than half a million viewers logging on to YouTube to watch their work.

Pujan Mulji and Darren Vitarana, who make up film production company VMproductions, have seen the comedy sketch they co-produced and directed become an overnight hit on the web and are now looking to get more of their work out to the masses.

The duo, who met while at Harrow College, combined with Croydon-based theatre troupe The Unexpected Items to put together the four-minute skit Gap Yah, which has had an incredible 660,000 hits in less than a month.

It is not the only project the pair have been working on and their 14-minute short film on an Afghan Shaolin living in Harrow has already been snapped up by the London Independent Film Festival.

Speaking about the success of the two projects Pujan, 25, of South Harrow said: "We are delighted with the response we have had to our work so far and it is amazing to think so many people have gone on to YouTube to watch Gap Yah.

"But we have done some really varied work and at the moment we are really looking to get our film

'Ehsan Shafiq: Afghan Shaolin' made into a half-hour documentary for TV or even taken on as a short film.

"I joined a kung fu class in Harrow that was lead by him and it was fascinating to interview him and get hold of unseen footage of his time in Pakistan and Kabul.

"We have always been interested in filming all different things and we have done a number of music videos in the past as well."

Although they met at Harrow College where they did media studies they really forged their partner-ship while at Goldsmiths University, where Pujan studied animation and Darren film journalism.

A combination of arts that Darren, 26, of Harrow Weald, says has helped develop such a formidable team.

He added: "I think the things that we are interested in and the courses we have studied really help us to complement each other.

"We are both confident that we can take our work forward and are delighted with the success that we have had so far."
