A YEADING family is on cloud nine after two strokes of luck in a week.

Kerry Foster, 40, and her two daughters Jaylen, six, and Tia, 11, are looking forward to their next holiday after winning an all expenses, trip for four to Disney World in Florida, followed by a luxury cruise in the Bahamas.

And last Tuesday, Tia heard she had gained a coveted year-long scholarship with the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, worth £1,300.

Miss Foster entered a competition on the website for the ITV daytime show Loose Women back in September, and was told of the win last week, in what she describes as a tough year for the family.

"I’m so shocked as I’ve never heard of anyone I know winning these type of competitions before and thought they might be fixed," she said. "I had forgotten all about it, so when I got the call saying I'd won I thought it was a wind-up.

"I took the girls to Turkey in the summer and that was a holiday from hell. I had to have an emergency operation on my leg while we were there because of an abscess.

"My grandad died the following day, and I couldn't travel back to help arrange the funeral because of my condition. It was awful. I’ve never won anything more than a bottle of plonk in a raffle before, so I am completely over the moon!"

Tia has been dancing since she was five. She took part in auditions at Ruislip High School last month for the scholarship place, after her mum read about them in the Gazette and put her forward.

Tia comes from a family of talented dancers; her cousin, Akai Osei, was the 2010 winner of ITV's Got To Dance contest.

Miss Foster, who works as a PA, said: "Tia is just ecstatic. As soon as she got the news, she was on Facebook and her Blackberry messaging all her friends.

"I'm really proud of her. She was so shy as a young child, hence the reason I got her started in dancing, and now she is really dedicated.

"Nothing good ever happens to us and there have been lots of ups and downs this year, so it is just unbelievable that these two amazing things have happened in the same week!"
