X Factor stars Kingsland Road and Made In Chelsea’s Louise Thompson watched choirboy Jack Topping switch on the Christmas lights at Westfield.

The celebrities watched as 11-year-old Jack lit up the centre’s ice rink sponsored by Huawei Device and Santa’s grotto at the Shepherd's Bush mall on Wednesday night (Nov 21).

The singer is Save the Children’s youngest ambassador and this year hopes to beat the X Factor winner to the Christmas number one spot with his charity single Tomorrow.

Jack said: “It was so exciting to sing my new song live to such a big crowd at Westfield. To then be able to switch on the lights was a really special moment. Everyone said ‘ooh’ when they saw how beautiful they were.”

Ice skating troupe Burlesque on Ice were the first to skate in the Atrium’s rink.

Special guests dropped in to see Jack perform, including The Only Way is Essex’s Lydia Bright and EastEnders stars Lucy Benjamin and Nina Wadia.

Myf Ryan, Westfield’s marketing director, said: “The inspiring 11-year-old entertained our guests with his beautiful voice and we’re hoping Jack’s single Tomorrow will take the number one Christmas spot in the charts and raises lots of money for our Christmas charity partner.

“The event kicked-off a series of festive activities and events that will be held at Westfield London in the run-up to Christmas.”

The ice rink and 5D grotto experience will run throughout the rest of November and  December. Westfield is donating 35p from the sale of every ticket to Save the Children .
