SINGING sensation Johnny Robinson will be bringing the X-Factor to Harrow tonight as he turns on the town centre's Christmas lights.

The talent show star from West Harrow will kick off the official countdown to Christmas by turning on the lights in St Ann's Road, near Katie's Statue, at 6.30pm. The fun starts from 3.30pm with street entertainers, balloon artists and Sparky the giant robot appearing in St Ann’s Road to entertain all the family.

At 4.15pm the spectacular Christmas ‘light garden’ art installation will light up outside St George’s Centre.

The new installation features giant snowdrops and lotus flowers arranged around a giant alium flower.

Harrow Council has installed the Christmas lights, along with festive lights along Station Road and St Ann’s Road, using money won from the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund. The Council secured £860,000 to spend on revitalising Harrow Town Centre and the shopping district in North Harrow to support traders and the local economy.

Speaking before his appearance tonight, Johnny Robinson said: "I'm thrilled to be able to come back to Harrow to help launch the countdown to Christmas.

"I had such great support from local people during the X Factor and it will be fantastic to say thank you in person, as well as give my backing to local traders during the Christmas shopping period. I look forward to seeing lots of you in Harrow Town Centre."
