REGARDING Lucy Proctor's articles on home-lessness (Chronicle, February 12, 19 and 26).

I would like to say that I was lucky enough to be invited to a party at which a quantity of food was left over. Much of it had to be thrown away as none of us knew of a local charity where we could quickly deliver the food to deserving people. Is there such an organisation? PENELOPE MANN Syon Lane, Osterley.
