HILLINGDON'S three MPs met to discuss how to save the cash-strapped Hillingdon Women's Centre.
The Gazette reported two weeks ago how the centre, in Long Lane, Hillingdon, which helps more than 3,000 women a year, could close as soon as November if answers to its financial troubles are not found.
Last Friday, John Randall (Conservative, Uxbridge and South Ruislip), John McDonnell (Lab, Hayes and Harlington) and Nick Hurd (Con, Ruislip , Northwood and Pinner), met representatives of the centre for two hours, hearing testimonies from women who have been helped by the centre.
Mr Randall told the Gazette: "We decided between the three of us, we would investigate everything which could be done for the centre.
"There is excellent work being done there - the presentations showed that.
"There will no doubt be fundraising efforts to help. The problem is that, like with everything, costs have gone up." * If you can help, call the centre on 01895 279 578.
