DOCTORS at the BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Sudbury Hill are urging women to ensure they are up to date with their smear test during Cervical Screening Awareness Week.

The awareness campaign – which runs from this Saturday to Saturday next week – aims to educate women to the risks associated with cervical cancer.

The disease kills claims nearly 1,000 women each year in the UK.

Many women miss their appointments for a smear, which is an opportunity to detect early-warning signs for cervical cancer.
