A WOMAN has allegedly been seriously injured after falling from a block of flats in Wealdstone.

It is believed she toppled from the apartments above the new Sainsbury's store in High Street since police forensics officers were combing the pavement outside the supermarket this morning.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: "We can confirm we were called at 3.30am responding to a woman on a building roof in Harrow.

"She's believed to have fallen whilst officers were trying to locate her. Subsequently officers and the London Ambulance Services attended a business premises in High Street, Wealdstone.

"The lady is now in a north-west London hospital in a serious but stable condition."

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at just before 4.10am to an incident in High Street, Wealdstone.

"We sent an ambulance crew, two duty officers and an air ambulance doctor in a car to the scene.

"Our staff treated one patient, a woman, and took her to hospital. She had multiple injuries."

Police are not linking the fall to a fire over the road at MG Superstore that broke out earlier in the night, at 11.55pm.
