A woman was hit by a train and killed at West Drayton station on Saturday morning (April 26).

The incident, which police say is "not being treated as suspicious", happened at around 11.30am. The victim has not yet been identified.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Our officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service, and discovered a woman had been struck and killed by a train.

"Officers are now working to formally identify the deceased.

"We will then assist in the compilation of a report for the coroner."

Services were disrupted and trains did not stop at the station for most of the day following the incident.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 11.30am on Saturday to reports of a passenger under a train at West Drayton station.

"We sent an ambulance crew and duty officer to the scene, but sadly, the patient was dead at the scene."

The train involved was a freight train travelling from Dollands Moor to Magram Yard.
