The woman injured in a collision with a bus in Uxbridge on Monday evening is said to be doing well.

Although she has not been named, friends have told the Gazette the woman, in her 60s and from the Ickenham area, has had stitches to a head wound but is not believed to be otherwise badly hurt and is expected to make a full recovery.

TfL has started an investigation into what happened. The woman was hurt during the rush hour on Monday as the U5 turned into Bakers Road, Uxbridge, at about 5.15pm.

Neighbouring Belmont Road was closed and traffic diverted while paramedics treated the woman before she was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington.
