A woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition following a two-car smash in the Stockley Park area last night (Tuesday, November 18). Her condition remains critical but stable this morning.
The collision happened in West Drayton Road at about 5.25pm, and traffic quickly snarled up in the area, according to eye-witnesses, with tailbacks to the M4 airport spur junction.
West Drayton Road was closed in both directions between Harlington Road and the Stockley Bypass, according to police, and fully re-opened at 10.48pm.
London Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and numerous support staff plus a team from the London Air Ambulance, by car.
It treated four people at the scene, and two women were taken to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, one with head, arm and leg injuries and the other with a chest injury.
Witnesses are needed to help police establish what happened.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating. Nobody was arrested and enquires continue. Call 020 8991 9555 if you can help.
