Wolverine lookalike Marcus Akin may have met his match in the Big Brother house after bosses sent in a bloke who looks like He Man.

Musclebound Tom Oliver, 27, was one of five new housemates introduced to the Channel 4 show on Friday to spice things up, and he quickly made a beeline for Marcus' love interest - Irish beauty Noirin Kelly.

Marcus, 35, who - after seven weeks on the flagship reality programme - can now lay claim to having the most famous mullet in Brentford, was quick to spot a potential rival.

The window fitter told Noirin that Tom was trying worm his way into housemates' good books to avoid being put up for eviction and stand a chance of winning the show's £100,000 prize money.

"He's trying to be best friends but it's not happening,” said Marcus, adding: “He came over to me to be matey-mates and smarm.”

Tom suggested to others that he might be interested in Noirin but wouldn't pursue her because he didn't want to "tread on any toes", but denied being scared of Marcus.

So far viewers have watched the Brentford boy dress up as a dancing flower for a task, spend a week as a Tudor village idiot, and do his utmost to woo Noirin, despite her insisting they are just friends.

On Friday, just hours before the new housemates arrived, Big Brother provided Marcus with an opportunity to take Noirin on a romantic dinner date as a reward for passing a task.

This week he faces eviction alongside 10 other housemates with the loser being decided by a viewers vote. Stay tuned for more Marcus Akin updates.
