AN 11-year-old girl was approached by a man who attempted to lure into his vehicle near Elthorne Park High School late last week.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident last Thursday (September 23) at 5.50pm in Woodstock Avenue, West Ealing.

When the girl ran off after she was chased briefly by the man, who was then scared off because of members of the public in the street.

The male is described as about 40 years old, 5 ft 7 ins tall, skin tanned or dark, with long facial hair around his mouth and upper lip, short grey / white hair with bits of brown.

He spoke with an English accent and was wearing brown leather trousers. The man was also driving a distinctive orange van, with a light / white roof and big bold writing on the side, with a large letter O.

Det Sgt Chris Denman, who is leading the investigation with the Serious and Violent Crime Unit at Southall, said: "This is a very good description. This man and his van stand out and someone will recognise him. This was a serious incident and we are working hard to catch this individual".
