GILBERT and Sullivan's classic comic opera Ruddigore is coming to the Theatre Royal in Windsor, and we've got four pairs of tickets to give away to readers.

The show debuted in January 1887 and hits town on Monday November 21 until Saturday November 26 performed with a modern twist by the Oxfordshire-based Opera della Luna company.

They previously performed a reworked HMS Pinafore and a wacky version of The Pirates of Penzance, and are now turning their hands to another popular Gilbert & Sullivan title -  the much-loved Ruddigore, Gilbert’s hilarious send-up of Victorian melodrama which contains some of the most ravishing music Sullivan ever composed.

This is no ordinary Ruddigore though. In the hands of Opera della Luna, the show has been reworked with some extra twists to the plot. In The Ghosts of Ruddigore we come across two amateur G&S enthusiasts, Kevin and Amanda, lost in Cornwall while searching for the Gilbertian village of Rederring. When a posse of ageing bridesmaids appears through the mist, Kevin and Amanda find themselves drawn into the plot of Ruddigore with hilarious consequences.

The cast for the production includes Opera della Luna regulars Louise Crane and Oliver White along with acclaimed West End performer John Griffiths and Welsh National Opera’s Laura Parfitt. The production is accompanied by a live band.
