Police are hunting two brazen criminals who attempted to rob a cash-in-transit-van in broad daylight.

The men, who were disguised in long scarves and hats, struck in Willesden High Road, on Thursday last week, but were fought off by the security guard and a brave member of the public.

They tried to snatch the box inside HSBC bank as the guard dropped it off at around 3.50pm.

But were pushed to the floor during a struggle and ran out of the bank in an unknown direction.

The security guard and shopper who helped fight off the robbers received minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

Both suspects are white, with stocky builds and between 18-25-years-old.

Officers from the Finchley Flying Squad are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
