A FAYRE marking an annual date against domestic violence is taking place today (Tuesday) in Uxbridge.
The fayre, which is commemorating White Ribbon Day, is to take place at the Mall Pavillions, Uxbridge, and aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding domestic violence.
Representatives from the police and the council as well as from Age Concern and Victim Support will be on hand to provide support and speak to residents about the purpose of the day.
The Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Shirley Harper-O'Neill, will start the day with a speech about the importance of the cause and the support available in the borough for those that need it.
Councillor Janet Gardner, a domestic violence victim's advocate, said: "By discussing and raising awareness of domestic violence in the context of community safety in Hillingdon, I hope that more people will engage with the council and its partners to find out more about issues that are affect the lives of so many people and that can affect anyone at any time."
