AS ONE of the White Bear old regulars, the refurbishment, in my mind, was (done) to try and make the pub just like The Coach and Horses in Ickenham, but failed miserably, driving away the very good daytime and afternoon regulars who liked a quiet-ish drink with a nice atmosphere ('I can't Bear it!', Ruislip and Eastcote Gazette, March 10).

I used to play darts in a secluded part of the pub, but they moved the darts area to a part of the pub where it interfered with people playing pool and vice versa, plus traffic to both toilets and on a moveable stage, so we had no option but to find somewhere else to play darts and to drink.

I genuinely feel sorry for Mitch and wish him well with his fight, but the pub must once again be revamped. Please listen to the common man who likes a drink.
