If you have always wanted to learn another language, head along to a language club run by the council's adult education department.

The French and Greek Language Club meets on the first Friday of the month to study the language, literature and culture of different countries.

People welcome to join in and hear guest speakers or enjoy native food evenings. The Language club meets on Friday , September 5, from 7.30pm - 9.30pm at the North Hillingdon Adult Education Centre in Long Lane, Ickenham.

Spot some beautiful blooms, locally produced fruit and veg and handmade arts and crafts at the Eastcote Horticultural Society Autumn show on Saturday , September 6, from 2.30pm – 4.30pm.

Held at the Eastcote Community Centre, in Southbourne Gardens the show is free to attend..

Kerry-Anne Mullins-Haughan is turning The Harefield pub in High Street, Harefield, into the likeness of Oscar night, complete with red carpet, on Saturday , September 6.

She will entertain with songs, there will be a DJ, raffle and more, with proceeds going to  Michael Sobell Hospice  in Rickmansworth Road, Northwood, where Kerry-Anne’s mum, Lillian Haughan, died in 2000.

The hospice, in the grounds of Mount Vernon Hospital, is also the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor  Catherine Dann ’s, chosen charity for her year of office this year.

Guests are encouraged to come in movie-themed fancy dress, and there will be a prize for the best dressed.

The evening starts at 7.30pm and runs until late.

Hayes End Community Centre brings a host of fun activities at its annual Family Fun Day in the Park on Saturday , September 6.

A funfair, go-karts, Medieval displays, dancing, a dog show, martial arts, and a tug-of-war organised by local scout groups are just some of the fun on offer for all ages on the day.

The event, from 11am - 4pm at Hayes End Community Center in Kingsway, Hayes End, will raise funds for the community centre and raise awareness of local charities and community groups.

Landscape artist Graham Pellow brings his work to the Cow Byre Gallery at Manor Farm in Bury Street, Ruislip for his bi-annual one man exhibition on Sunday , September 7 from 10am - 5pm.

A member of the Hillingdon Artists group and chairman of the Eastcote Art Society, Graham showcases his work locally throughout the year and many of his paintings are printed as greeting cards and can be bought at exhibitions.
