With the environment high on the agenda, Brent's Liberal Democrat councillors have been supporting the council's big recycling push, which went live on August 4.

I am sure readers will be glad to hear that Liberal Democrat-led Brent Council is now setting about preparing a borough-wide climate change strategy.

The council is keen to ensure that everyone in Brent is prepared for and can adapt to the predicted changes in weather patterns in the coming years, and will be able to make a contribution to reducing the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced locally.

The council has also launched an online questionnaire for people to raise concerns and ideas related to climate change to help the council finalise what actions to take as part of its strategy. We have also started asking people face to face at various events across Brent.

I would like to invite readers who live and work locally to take part in the survey and give the council your thoughts.

Brent's Climate Change Survey can be found at the consultation pages of the council website at www.brent.gov.uk/ consultation.nsf.

Finally, if any of your readers would like to get involved at a community level in what is going on in Brent, www.brentlibdems.org.uk  is a good place to start.
