I WRITE in response to your star letter ['Not the ticket for being MP for Harrow East', Letters, July 31]. I have pity for the anonymous person that wrote it, who was obviously aware how foolish it was.
Since taking over Brent Council from Labour,albeit with the Liberals, Bob has cleaned up Brent and made it an attractive place to live again as well as sorting out their finances.
Cllr Blackman most certainly is responsible for keeping North Harrow,Sudbury Hill and other Underground Stations open, through campaigning with the people over a long period of time and presenting a petition to the London Mayor along with Doctor Rachel Joyce.
Whilst GLA Member those who take an interest in London Politics will have seen him on the local news standing up for Londoners on numerous issues and he managed to retain the H18 Bus Route running through Headstone.
The residents of Harrow will have a first class Member of Parliament who will put Harrow before self interest and fight to obtain a better Financial Settlement for Harrow Council.
The only Joker I know of in Harrow is that Member of Parliament in the Home Office that takes pride in being lenient to criminals, but in reality this is no laughing matter.
