WEST Middlesex Hospital has received a five-star rating for its food hygiene standards.

An inspection by council environmental health officers under the Scores on The Doors scheme found 'very high standards of food safety management' in the restaurant and main kitchen.

Caroline Laver, general manager of the hospital's food supply department, Ecovert FM, said: "Maintaining the highest levels of food safety is of paramount importance to us, particularly as we cater for sick and vulnerable patients.

"To achieve this level when we provide over 400,000 meals every year is testament to the hard work of all our staff, especially the catering team." In 2009 the hospital received a four-star rating.
