WEST MIDDLESEX Hospital has been rated 'excellent' across the board in a national survey, published last week.

The hospital in Twickenham Road, Isleworth, was awarded top marks for 'environment', 'food' and 'privacy and dignity' in the annual assessment overseen by the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA).

It was among only 17 per cent of trusts across England to achieve the feat.

The inspection was carried out by a Patient Environment Action Team, including nurses, doctors, caterers and patients, and was subject to an audit by the NSPA.

Janet Marriott, one of the patient representatives involved in the assessment, said: “I was very impressed by the hospital during the inspection, particularly with the meals provided to patients.”

West Mid was rated 'good' for environment and 'excellent' for food last year. 'Privacy and dignity' is a new category.
